The 17 year old policy of "don't ask don't tell" has been eliminated in the US Marine Corps. If any homosexual acts are seen by off duty Marines, then they are to be treated as if it were a man and a woman. The discrimination of the 'gays' is inappropriate and will no longer be tolerated. A marine can now be discharged for discriminating or gay bashing. Chaplains are not allowed to discriminate against, but they are however permitted to express their belief that homosexuality is a sin. All over branches of the military are expected to follow in the Marines footsteps this summer.

I think this a great thing. There should be no discrimination based on sexuality in the military. They are just as able bodied as straight soldiers. They are dedicated to this country and they deserve the right to defend it. There may and probably will be some resistance to this new law, but it will eventually become the norm.
Being homosexual does not affect the way a person serves his or her country. This is the Marine Corps being the bigger person.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Brad. These people are risking their lives for us, so we should not be discriminating against them. I thank God that they are protecting us.
